Pseudo-Apology Letter From Dick Cheney (by Mia Katz)

Well, here it is ... my IllustrationFriday.com contribution to the "Sorry" theme -- a pseudo-first-draft of an apology letter from American Vice President Dick Cheney, in regards to his hunting accident a few months ago, when he accidentally shot Austin lawyer Harry Whittington while hunting quail. (In actuality written and designed in Photoshop by The Great Blogbina.)

(Click on the image above for a better viewing.)

And now it's time to play "Compare and Contrast your American Vice Presidents" with a look at (former late U.S. Vice President and President) Harry S. Truman and his one-time hunting adventure.

According to The Wit and Wisdom of Harry Truman, Truman was asked by Pennsylvania Senator Joseph Guffey to join a hunting party at his game preserve. When gamekeepers brought the animals before the hunters, Truman refused to shoot.

Why? According to the book, "I do not like to hunt animals and I never have," he (Truman) once said. "I do not believe in shooting at anything that cannot shoot back."

Reported (non-related) quote by Dick Cheney?

"Direct threats require decisive action."

Of course, there's nothing more threatening than a bird, or a 78-year-old lawyer who looks like one.
